- Aim: Develop and field-validate serologic-based strategies for identifying free-living species that act as reservoirs for avian influenza viruses (AIVs); enhance efficiency of surveillance by enabling the use of serologic data to target AIV detection and isolation efforts toward avian species with evidence of prior AIV exposure and infection
- Approach: Evaluate the utility of the new IDEXX (MultiS-Screen) ELISA methodology to detect type-specific antibodies to AIV in a range of wild bird species; develop potential test strategies
