- Aims: Deliver just-in-time training on 2009 novel H1N1 influenza to key target audiences, such as veterinarians, pork and poultry producers, meat processors, public health professionals, government agriculture officials, and laboratory staff (surveillance and detection); develop online modules on prevention of interspecies transmission of the pandemic H1N1 virus; conduct outreach activities, including webinars, conference presentations, and a tabletop exercise and/or workshop
- Approach: Determine areas of focus for training and target audiences for the online modules by conducting key informant interviews and surveys with subject matter experts; deliver modules on interspecies transmission of the 2009 novel H1N1 virus, biosecurity guidance and worker safety for swine and poultry industries, and infection control guidance for small-animal veterinary practices; post modules on the MCEIRS web site training portal (www.mceirs.umn.edu/training); deliver presentations on 2009 novel H1N1 topics at veterinary and swine-producer conferences
